Happy-Go-Lucky’s Pool Hall Gang is, in many ways, the most important song in the CHERRY TOWN collection. It cynically talks about the negative value of comformity for conformity sake. It makes a point that “Even after Happy fades away, the whole idea of his gang will stay.” It further says sarcastically, “That’s the way you want it, that’s the way it is.” The applause tracks added underline the “approval” mentality that is at the base of mindless conformity.
It is quite a social statement and deep thinking for band members in their young-mid teens!
